Introduction
A Surface Water Treatment Plant purifies water drawn from rivers, ponds, canals or lakes — sources that are seasonal, turbid and biologically active. Our systems are designed specifically for Bangladesh's monsoon-driven surface water so quality stays consistent year-round.
What is surface water treatment?
Surface water contains suspended solids, algae, organic colour, bacteria and, in coastal areas, seasonal salinity. Treatment starts with intake screening and clarification (clariflocculator, lamella or DAF), followed by dual-media filtration, activated carbon, and finally disinfection — with UF or RO where drinking-grade or process-grade water is needed.
Where surface water plants are used
Common applications include:
- Municipal drinking water supply
- Industrial estates without adequate groundwater
- Rural cluster water supply schemes
- Coastal resorts and islands
- Emergency and disaster relief operations
